Tuohon on mahdoton vastata kun ei ole vain yhtä oikeaa toimintatapaa. Toinen äidistä toinen isästä jne. Mielestäni kuitenkin joitain hyviä piirteitä mitä kaikilla saisi olla voi listata. Niitä on mm. sitkeys, kestävyys, läheltä painostus, sopiva haukkukynnys(ei löysä), ohjattavuus ja oppivaisuus. Oppivaisuudella tarkoitan huonoista kokemuksista viisastumista. Tämä ominaisuus onneksi useimmilla russeleilla onkin.

Siinäpä noita hyvältä luolakoiralta vaadittavia ominaisuuksia tulikin. Minun mielestä jos puhutaan "working" koirista niin niillä täytyy sitten ollakin kokemusta "työ"hommista eli russelin tapauksessa luolametsästyksestä. Omakohtaiset kokemukset russeleista on, että ne työskentelevät lähellä riistaa, eivät ole löysiä ja todellakin oppivat huonoista kokemuksista.
