Pretty entertaining. I loved the original and I feared how this would turn out. I like Adam Sandler quite a bit mostly because dumb humor has always resonated with me and I'm not that bright to begin with. But I didn't think this movie deserved to be dumbed down.

While there was a degree of idiocy to this film, The Waterboy II it wasn't. The movie held true to most of the original, using some of the better jokes and expanding on others. And I was really surprised by that. Going into the film I wondered what would become of some of the more questionable themes in the first film. Would Caretaker (played forgetably by Chris Rock, the worst part of film) meet the same fate as he did in the original? Would there be the overtly racist guard? Would there be the domestic dispute in the opening sequence? The answers to these questions shocked me in a good way. The film really shyed away from the PC direction it could have gone in favor of edgier fare. It was pleasantly surprising!

The football sequences were well done also. Lots of stylized action. Really, this was the best looking Sandler movie to date. It looked like a studio movie rather than a high-budget indie. Was it worth the remake? Sure. There have been far worse remakes lately. I had a good time with it.

My only beef would be Chris Rock. He shouldn't be allowed to do movies and should stick to what he does well: stand-up comedy and hosting awards shows. Otherwise they shouldn't waste the celluloid on him. I did enjoy Kevin Nash, however. He has a funny twist to his character in the third act.
