Subject: Ang Lee

I read a quote by Ang Lee today and I found it a little curious. The interviewer was asking him about his feelings on actors ruining their careers by doing controversial movies like Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhal playing gay cowboys in Lee's "Brokeback Mountain". Here's his quote, which I paraphrase:

"They're actors, they want the juicy parts. I don't care if it ruins their careers as long as they give me a great performance."

While I seem to understand what he's saying here, it also seems a little irresponsible and selfish. That comment basically says that actors are second class citizens to him. I think he should be happy to have actors that want to be in his films after "Hulk", that lousy piece of shit.
