As much as it tried to be a quality film, I thought the Talented Mr. Ripley just fell short of capturing the audience's interest. There were a few good scenes, but the plot just never went anywhere.

I actually thought Jude Law was decent in it, and is "decent" in most roles. He's just not "good".

What's that movie he was in with Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts? My wife and I rented that one night. The character Law played had to have been the wimpiest, most pathetic, ball-less persona in the history of cinema.
