Subject: SNL has long since quit being an ensemble
In reply to: Rocket 's message, "LOL. It is beyond me how NBC has allowed SNL to become so incredibly bad. At what point is someone going to think about firing Tina Fey (head writer)?" on 14:51:59 01/07/06 Sat

SNL was at it's best when the cast put the show above all. But for many years now, the cast just uses the show as a showcase for their individual talents and sacrifice the show in the process. Adam Sandler was one of the most notable for doing that. Jimmy Fallon is another, as someone who was not funny, so he just f'ed up his lines every week to get laughs. Other people that absolutely sucked but got famous by one-upping their cast mates include David Spade and Chris Farley. Farley is about the unfunniest fat f*ck I've ever seen in my life and he was funnier than Spade.

The only somewhat engaging personality on SNL now is Amy Poehler. I think Michaels realizes it too because she's in almost every skit. Kind of like when SNL sucked in the 80's and the only thing going was Eddie Murphy, so he was in every skit (something shocking for a black guy on SNL).

I think SNL fans and wrestling fans have a lot in common. They both watch their shows even though they both suck in hopes of something good eventually happening again. They're both waiting for their respective shows to be great again.
