Good. Not great, but good. The ending wrap-up kind of spoiled it for me, not to mention the performace of the in-over-her-head Eva Mendes. I do like Will Smith, he's very charming and showed he can pull off the romantic comedy after establishing himself as a certified box-office-smash action star. I love Kevin James and he doesn't disappoint here. Sidenote: Kevin James was hands-down the FUNNIEST stand-up comedy I have ever seen. The movie had some genuine funny parts and did a decent job of mixing the laughs with the romance.

I thought the movie was about Will Smith's date doctor "Hitch" fixing up Kevin James with the girl of his dreams. That's part of the movie, but it's a subplot that plays a part in the main story of Hitch trying to win the heart of Eva Mendes' character.

I saw this last night (Saturday) and that is the first time I have been to the movies on a Saturday night in I can't remember. I normally go to the movies on a weekend matinee due to my weekend work schedule. Anywho, I remembered exactly why I didn't like going on weekend evenings. Crowded. People talking. Older people discussing. Obnoxious laughing. I swear, a woman two rows behind me was watching a different movie with her donkey-like braying and carrying-on. It was funny, but not THAT funny. Then I had to put up with the row of older folks behind me with the one lady asking after every other line "what did they say?" and having the guy ask her INCORRECTLY most of the time. I like my empty-theater matinees.
