Not bad. I'd call it good, but not great. PG-13 rating, but easily could have been rated R, thanks to the language. In my humble opinion, not suitable for children under 10. Which does me no help now since my almost 6-year-old daughter thought it looked cool, really wanted to see it and I took her.

The movie is a murder-mystery against the backdrop of science fiction with a typical cheesy message. If you're looking for 2 hours of man vs. robot, look elsewhere.

Will Smith doesn't bother me. I find him charming and he has charisma to spare. He is able to match that twinkle in his eye with the knuckles in his fist effectively. His "hip-hop" delivery is acceptable, since it seems to add believability to the character he is playing.

I missed most of the previews thanks to a slow-moving concession stand. IT'S POPCORN, for crying out loud. It shouldn't take this long. The only preview I did catch was for Colin Ferrell's "Alexander". I'm interested, but it seems the "epic" genre is kind of played out. When I first caught the previews for Troy, I was awestruck by the sheer magnitude of the battle scenes and the thousands upon thousands of boats. "Alexander" shows similiar battle scenes and you just kind of shrug your shoulders, quietly murmuring to yourself "I think I've already seen that".
