Subject: new movie trailers

Six new movie trailers I saw at Bridget Jones:

1.) The Phantom of the Opera. It's directed by Joel Schumacher and we all know what he did to the Batman franchise.

2.) Hide and Seek. A new thriller starring Robert DeNiro as a widower and Dakota Fanning (of "Cat in the Hat" fame) as his daughter who attempts to find solace in an imaginary friend.

3.) In Good Company. Topher Grace as a 26-year-old executive who ends up dating the daughter of his 51-year-old "wingman", whom he got the job over, played by Dennis Quaid. The trailer went for the cheap heart-pulling moment by using Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill".

4.) Meet the Fockers. The sequel to "Meet the Parents". The full theater was laughing uproariously at the trailer for this movie. Looks like more of the same, which isn't really a bad thing.

5.) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. The latest project from Wes Anderson, starring Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Owen Wilson and Willem Defoe. As to be expected from Anderson, the movie looks funny and quirky. Murray plays an oceanographer who takes his team to get revenge on a (mythical) shark along with help from a man who may or may not be his son (Wilson).

6.) The Aviator. Martin Scorsese's biopic of Howard Hughes starring Leo DiCaprio. Unfortunately, it looks like this film is only going to cover the early Hughes' years and eschew the older urine-collecting, toe-nail growing, basically nuts version of Hughes.
