I thought the recent movie "Mystic River" was great up until the very ending... Not the movie's climax, but the epilogue. Suddenly, the characters were behaving oddly... nothing like how they were developed earlier in the movie. In some cases, they were 180 degrees different. My hunch is that the end of the movie was actually filmed first. Then, as the rest of the movie was being filmed, the story was changed a bit to make it better. However, the ending, then, wasn't consistent with the rest of the movie.
