She's one of these actors/actresses - as soon as you sign her name to a project, it bombs. Look at her recent track record - From Dusk Til Dawn (although the script with that one obviously didn't help), Fools Rush In, Dogma, and the list goes on. Actually, I looked her up at IMDB and I don't recognize the majority of her films. (Only exception, seemingly, Desperado).

I didn't think Wild, Wild West was as bad as some other TV adaptations - adaptations which had no right being movies, such as Beverly Hillbillies, My Favorite Martian, etc., (although the first two Brady Bunches were surprisingly good).

Wild, Wild West was just flat. Like Tomb Raider. Beautifully made, well-acted, etc., but it was just flat and uninteresting. And in that respect, yeah, they're dreadful.

You can't ask for a script from Hollywood, though - it's all about action and merchandizing when it comes to the blockbusters. Like the casting of Wil Smith. Wasn't that when he was extremely hot and getting cast in everything?

I think most of the adaptations are pretty bad. There's only a handful of exceptions - The Fugitive, Maverick, I can't think of any other good ones off the top of my head. The rest are shockers, (and my biggest disappointment was with Lost in Space, a show I liked).

Hopefully they don't attempt Get Smart. (I once heard they approached Adam Sandler, and he flat-out refused because he said it was impossible to fill Don Adam's shoes - true!).

Finally, as an aside, for some reason I was once looking up Brian Dennehy's filmography, and I was surprised to find Gilligan's Island there. Dennehy was credited as the skipper. Anyway, this was a couple of years ago, and the date on the movie was actually a year or two old, too. I've since heard that this is in fact the worst movie ever and will never be released.
