That double-agent/mole in CTU, when he's discovered and he takes a hostage to escape, you know who it'll be.

I can forgive Kim being a computer-whiz because the writers' took the cheat way around and set this series 3 years after the last one. (I say they cheated because it's so easy to use time to solve all your creative problems).

Also, what happened with Tony Almeda? He's about the only redeeming character in the show, and they shoot him in the next. Effectively, that should finish him for this series, although with Hollywood medicine he'll probably be up and about in a couple of episodes.

Then there's the President; considering all the shit he's gone through, he'd have to be unsinkable, wouldn't he?

Finally, an entire season of 24 should be written entirely in advance to get around all these on-the-fly kidnappings and sieges.

I can't believe it isn't; as you yourself have said, the first handful of episodes and the last few are awesome, but everything in-between is mindless filler and comes across as such.
