Subject: Re: CGI.

I hate CGI.

On it's own it looks good...but fake. The best example is in sci-fi with space-scenes, etc. Now that CGI has taken the place of models, everybody raves about the effects. I think they look average, at best. Nothing has any real depth. It has the illusion of dimension, but that's it. Like looking at a photo. You can see the shape of the subject, but the photo itself is flat.

Then there's CGI when it begins interacting with real scenery and people. This always shatter the illusion.

Like when Anakin's surfing on that bull-creature in Attack of the Clones - that looks shocking. Or Aragon leading the forces from Helm's Deep in the lamentable Two Towers - woeful.

On it's own, passable. But when it begins interacting with real-stuff, it has as much realism as claymation.

Bring back models and puppets I say.
