I went to the meeting tonight, and I didn't even speak. I just sat back and watched as person after person went to the mic and said to put the backboards back up. Only one person out of a very large number of speakers spoke in favor of taking down the backboards. There were others who went there in favor of taking the goals down, but it seemed that by the end of the meeting even those who were originally were for taking the nets down had changed sides....except perhaps one couple.

This was most likely one of the most lopsided issues this board of directors has ever witnessed!

It is apparent that the neighborhood not only loves the idea of having the basketball courts, but wants more courts, not less. We also need more amenities, meaning more types of amenities. It really is time to stop letting a few bad apples ruin it for everyone.

For those who read this and who feel that there are issues at the common area that need to be taken care of I have a number for you....754-2550. That is the number for the police department. They said that you are welcome to call them anytime and report illegal activity and they will respond. Let's give Chief Garrett a chance, he is, in my opinion, a good man, a capable man, and I believe he will take care of what needs to be taken care of if he knows about it.
