Even thought that you all say that the BB courts are not the center of the gathering of teenagers I have to say yea they are. Its like standing water to a mosquito as long as they are there with no (and I repeat NO) deterrence you will attract a certain element to the neighborhood. Arguments against that say this will happen no matter if they are up or down. Proof they went down last year and the issues disappeared. I personally witness the overflow of teenagers from the BB courts start spreading to other parts of the park like the children's playground. I have seen Teens Pee on the swings then go back to the courts. Would I say something sure if the odds were more like one on one not 10 on one and my 3 year old was not with me. And if you call the cops and they respond late or by the time they arrive there is no activity then what. . I think we all agree a numbers game is a fact not fiction. I read we can be assured that the BB courts are not an attraction or the cause. That is absurd. Of course it is. It is a perfect environment for that. The pools are gated and basically obvious to all the see. If they are being abused. same with the tennis courts. I would argue with the children's area too. Seeing teens on the swings 12 in the morning is a little obvious too. It's a gathering point. It also is a glorified sport of a subculture that engages in illegal activities. Swimming is not. And I can bet you you will never see a gangster thug wanna be say. Yoooo lets have a killer game of Tennis.
Trust me I would love to see the hoops up and our children playing with them. BUUUUUUTTT not at the expense of the neighborhood children or the residents in the perimeter of the park. I am not that selfish. Sometimes it better giving up something for what's best for others. There are other ways and other methods to have BB , like on the driveway. Those that want them up and blatantly like I have read ignore what has happen should ask what is the real reasons they want it up. For the kids or for themselves and their kids ? Do you actually care that it attracted and will attract the unwanted element?
