Mike, I am glad to see that your association is also calling for a French language debate. The Wetaskiwin (Alberta) PC Association that I am now pres. of also called for a debate in French. It was interesting that the member of the local press that was at our AGM did not bother to report on anything else that happened at the meeting, only that the PC party would not have a French Debate.
You mentioned the lack of funds available to the party for setting up this kind of activity. I am afraid that the party is going to have to take some financial risks at this time. If we do not bring a large part of the Canadian public back to looking at our party as the logical government in waiting in the next few months, we will spend a long time wandering in the wilderness before we get another chance.
I would also like to point out that a lot of ordinary PC members, right now, are supporting one or the other of the Candidates and are wondering where they are going to get the money and the time off from their jobs to go to Toronto to support their favorite candidate. So these people must take some risks too. Especially in ridings with very few members.
