I remember Anne so well - don't know is she was bald but I do know that she was a Cornell graduate!! And I also know I would NEVER put my toe in the street before she said "Let's Go!!"
I also share your memories of the Canarsie Theatre, in fact I remember winning something once, they called ticket numbers after the Sat. matinee - it was a FUN TIME and a great (old fashioned) way to spend Saturdays. I seem to share all of your memories - how come I don't remember you??

no she was salt and pepper gray under that hat
i remember i would not dare to even lift my foot over the curb before she said "LEEETTTSS GO!" she'd have you wait a few lights just when you finally were motivated to get somewhere:home
