My husband Eddie Tomlinson must have been at the Indefatigable with you,he was there 50/51.He then worked for Cunard on the Franconia & old Queen Mary as an electrical engineer. In 56/57 he was called up & served in the Royal Marine Commandos, seeing active service at Port Said, Cyprus & Northern Ireland.(he was called up because he refused to return to duty, when he was due 6 weeks leave & was sent for after 2!!)After this he worked for the MEB, & then Goodyears Wolverhampton for 35 years before retiring. Unfortunately he died from cancer in 2005, just before the Inde book came out which he was hoping to read. But he had been able to attend the reunion in 2004 with a friend to help him,& he had a really memorable day there although he was already failing in health. Our sons have been really interested reading the book & I just wish we had known more about his time there when he was still with us.(My niece has been there recently as an army cadet, & she says the army nick-name for it is the H.M.S Unpronouncable!!)
