Hi Lynn,

Jeff just told me about your message here. Thanks for thinking of me, I'm really fine though. We've been separated since August 2001, and it turned out to just be a relief to have it overwith.

I've moved to Virginia for a new job in July, but I still talk to my stepson often, and I took him xmas shopping and to a movie when I was in Michigan last week. He seems to be doing well. We put the house on the market while I was there too, so that will be out of my hair soon too.

My stepson came to visit me last summer and seems to really like it here. He even sent away for information about the university I work at now, because he's thinking about coming to college here, which would be nice. He's 6'2" or 6'3" now!!! He'll be 16 in May.

His real mother found him online recently and has been talking to him on IM. She did ask permission from my ex first. I hope that turns out well for him. She's blown him off so many times that I know it's broken his heart. I hope she's at least consistent now. Anyway, he know the difference now between a parent who stick around emotionally and one who doesn't, so I think he'll be ok.

Anyway, it's just relief to not be legally bound to the ex..he was financially insane, and I'm glad to be rid of that stress.

Molly

I understand what you mean about the stress relief and I'm really happy that your son is doing well and hoping to get your way for University.

Are you settling in okay in the new area?
