Well I had planted bulbs last fall and so I had tulips, daffodils, crocuses and grape hyacinth (spelled that wrong I think). So they have all been done blooming for weeks!!! But I'm waiting for the leaves to brown up a bit more before I cut them down, the daffodils are ready to be cut this weekend, the tulips could be another 2 weeks or so. I don't want to cut them down too soon or they won't come back up next year.

So far I've planted 5 hanging baskets and three pots. I can't tell you what most of them are! LOL I just go buy stuff that will bloom all season and work well in pots and with low moisture in case I forget to water them!

I plan to cut down the daffodils this weekend and will put some summer flowers out there, maybe impatiens cause they did so well last year. I have a small flowerbed up close to the back of my house that is very dry soil and gets full sun in the afternoon and there I am going to plant some day lillies (yellow) and some small purple flowers and some white flowered ground cover. It is allsupposed to be good with very little water in dry soil and full sun. And they are perennials so hopefully they will come back year after year!

My daffodils and all the early flowers are already gone. I'm needing to get my summer flowers in or it will be too late. I love impatiens. They do really well here too. I have a ton of those old fashioned corn lilies all around the house. They just are so hardy and keep coming year after year. Had some glads for a while, by the darn grasshoppers did them in. I plant a ton of morning glories on my fences. They are so lush and great coverings.
