I'm still waiting for pics, woman! I finally got a semi-workable version of the site put on the new server so I'm ready for something from you to add to it. I haven't had much time lately to come up with much on my own, and I'm desperate for some new content! I'm getting to the point where I'm approaching friends and asking them to do some remodeling so I can take before and after pictures. LOL

I loved the article on remodeling disasters. I've had a few of my own over the years so I got a good chuckle.

You have to remember that you are talking to the woman who took 4 months to have her wedding photos developed, and who still hasn't taken in last Christmas's film. One of these days I'll take photos of my projects for Quick Decor.....promise.

The pillars on the front porch were done by the previous owners with a granite look paint. It looked great until the weather got cold. Then the paint started peeling off in huge chunks. I found the granite paint in the garage, and in bold letters across the back it said FOR INDOOR USE ONLY. I decided to use the pressure washer to strip the paint and it took off about 97%. I got them repainted, and they look nice again.

We've been spending the past month or so gardening. Chris is an avid gardener, and I'm trying to learn despite the fact that any flower I touch seems to die. Surprisingly, all were doing well until yesterdays storm.

I've found an artist whose work I really love. The majority of her work is pewter and aluminum casting. I'm replacing the light switch plates in the living room, family room, kitchen, and front hall with her creations. They are whimsical and fun and look gorgeous. (Yeah, I'll have to take of picture of those, too).

The next big project is removing the wallpaper from the hallway, entryway, dining room, and kitchen. After that, I'll paint it all. My son said he'd help strip the wallpaper, so we'll start on that after school gets out.

I've used the granite paint before (indoors only), and I love it. Gives a great look to ordinary things. I haven't done any switchplate or outlet cover replacing yet, that's coming up sometime in the future.

You really need to get a digital camera. No film to develop. That's EXACTLY why I got mine. When we moved into this house in Jan 2001, I found a roll of film from our honeymoon in Oct 1988. So, I think I have you beat in film developing procrastination.

You definitely have me beat, and I do need to get a digital camera. Any suggestions on brands?

The granite paint does look great it just doesn't weather well. The previous owners were a bit inept when it came to home repairs, but I think we're at a point where we've sorted out all of their mistakes. (I shouldn't have said that until after I get all the wallpaper down. *G*)

I still haven't figured out what color I want to do the kitchen yet. I definitely need your input, so I'll give you the specifics at Quick Decor.

I just got an Olympus C-2100 for Mother's Day, and it is awesome. It has the size and heft of a non-digital, along with a 10X optical zoon (not digital zoom). The pictures are crystal clear, and the camera does so MUCH. You can can change speed, aperture settings, light settins, all of it, just like a regular high end camera. It's rather pricey at $499.00, but it's well worth it. It'll pay for itself in the cost of film developing in no time.
