I'm a refugee from The Hearth. That grand old ship has hit an iceberg and is rapidly taking on water as we speak! Someone mentioned that some of the members of The Hearth would be found here, so I thought I would mosey on over and sit on the porch for awhile (my clothes got wet when I jumped off the Hearth--where can I hang them to dry?).

I don't see a profile area here so here's a quick intro:

46-year-old male.
Residence: Small horse farm in Kentucky's Bluegrass region.
Family: Married, with 8 children.
Occupation: Corporate training with a large, world-wide company
Military: U.S. Navy Submarine Service (7 years)
Politics: Very conservative
Interests: History, particularly military (particularly American Civil War, WW2 naval history). I also do living history.

I'll still have get used to the name of this forum, too! I've also associated the term "Back Talk" with getting my jaw jacked by Mom!! ;-)
