The Bluegrass Area Modified Midgets Association has discussed the possibility of disbandment due to lack of membership and interest. We will be holding a meeting on Tuesday April 22nd, 7 PM at Ponderosa in Draffenville, KY. If it is decided that the club should close permanently the current membership will decide where to donate the clubs assets. Any past member may attend and give suggestions on where the donations will go, but it will be the current membership that makes the final decision. All are welcome to attend and help with the decision process.

- Kyle Larson Looking for... -- Kyle Larson, 21:43:51 12/12/07 Wed
Kyle Larson Looking for 600 Shootout Ride – Tulsa OK Dec. 28-30th
I will be in Tulsa for the Shootout running my 500cc Outlaw Kart for the last time and am wondering if there might be a 600 ride available. I am 15 years old and ran 410 and 360 sprint cars in the Western U.S. At 14, I was the youngest ever allowed to race sprint cars in California. I am the California Civil War Series Rookie of the Year and won two main events. I was just nominated for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year in both the 410 and 360 divisions. I think I am the first driver under 16 allowed to race with the World of Outlaws and ran four races at the end of the season the Gold Cup at Chico, Manzanita in Phoenix, Perris and Tulare. I would sure like to race a 600 when I’m there. I will give your car a good chance to win, and will treat your equipment with respect. If interested please give my dad, Mike, a call at 916-479-4115, or send an e-mail to kylelarsonracing@yahoo.com Check out my website www.kylelarsonracing.com.
thanks Kyle Larson

- Phillip Bundren WINS BIG at TERRY SPRAGUE MEMORIAL -- RACERX, 15:12:36 08/12/07 Sun
A large turnout at Southern IL Raceway brought out some of the fastest racecars and drivers in the region for the Terry Sprague Memorial. The pace was some of the fastest laps that were made on the newly desighned track thanks to Richard Poe(promoter) and crew. They have done a lot to make the track and grandstand area better. Phillip Bundren picked up both wins in the Non Wing and the Wing Outlaw Classes with a great run by Scott Britton and Jake Palmisano in the Nonwing.
Phillip Bundren, Rick King, Jake Palmisano in the Outlaw Wing.
The Winged Outlaw was some of the best racing I have seen in years quoted by Mike Phillips, With Rick King and Phillip Bundren swaping leads every half lap running wheel to wheel edge of your seat racing.
We should be proud to know these guys because they set the pace in racing that the rest of us can learn from because where ever you go racing, you will be fast running with these guys.
I am sure that Terry Sprague would be proud to have been there to see a large croud, family and frends that turned out in his honor, and we never know, he may have been there? cya!

- THE NEW AND IMPROVED WAYNE CO. SPEEDWAY -- Jimmy Kemp, Public Relations Chairman, 14:20:00 07/16/07 Mon
The New Wayne County Speedway is proud to announce our newest improvement to the track. Mr. Dean Parker and his crew have lowered the infield and raised the top of the track, increasing our banking. They have put in a tremendous amount of work to improve our speedway. Come play with us Friday July 20th and experience the higher banking and increased speeds. I understand from some of the historians of the track, it is back to the way it was originally built, before 17 years of wear and tear!!
We are running a full show this Friday, and have a group of Winged Thunder 1200 Midget cars coming for an exhibition run with us. Will be fun to have full size midgets at our facility.
We are offering $500 to win to all classes with a full 20 car field, again this Friday evening. Come out and race on our new track!!! As always, Mr.Dean Parker is promising me a smooth no dust racey speedway. He will work and rework the track!! He has also repaired our wobble wheel roller and Lilly Rotera to work the surface into a smooth racey track.
See you at the Speedway.

YOU WOULD THINK MR.KENNY BROWN WOULDN'T THROW THE FITS HE DID LIKE AT SIRACEWAY THIS PAST WEEKEND. JUST BECAUSE MARION ONLY PAY BACK 15 PLACES AND HIS SON ENDED UP 16 HE YELLED AT THE GIRLS IN THE SIGN IN SHACK AND TOLD THEM AND EVERYONE ELSE IN HEARING DISTANCE"I WON'T BE BACK AT THIS TRACK"! I FOR ONE HOPE THIS ISN'T THE WAY POWRI IS BUT HE WILL PROBABLY PULL HIS SANCTIONED RACES THAT MARION HAS LINED UP FOR 2008. BUT AGAIN, IF THIS IS WHAT POWRI IS LIKE, MARION DOESN'T NEED THEM.

- 2006 Brodrix complete sell out -- TWood, 10:13:49 06/09/07 Sat
I hate to do this but due to circumstances I am selling everything that I have. I will try to list it all but this may take days. First of all I have a 2006 Brodrix chassis with a FTZ R6 and Odum carbs, ARS adj. shocks, 17 1/4 seat (new), 5 pt harness (new), 5 Hiper rims (new) and tires (the two front have 2 races on them and the right rear is about 60% and the left has 2 races on it as well. Several gears some new and some used(light weight aluminum). Several ignition boxes and one hot box. I have 4 carbs one which is on the car. The carbs that are not on the car are not converted yet. I have several never mounted tires that come with it as well. Assortment of torsion bars in the trailer, springs and misc nuts and bolts. I have extra rims that are not Hiper and beleive they are Keizer (Wade will be happy). I have two top wings and sliders. One wing is an outlaw and the other is a NMMA legal wing with slider. Electric slider comes with the car as well. New gauges, fuel pump, nerf bars, 4 new chains. I am also letting go with the car a newly built R6 built by Rehlmeyer. I have a 28ft Kar-rite split axle enclosed trailer with a winch and cabinets that I will sell with the car or separate. I will sell everything minus the trailer for a reasonable offer. Please don't waste my time this hurts bad enough the way it is. Please call 618-924-3359 if interested Thanks for looking.

- Revision POWRi April 27th entry fees and payout -- Jeff, 21:44:56 04/25/07 Wed
This is a revision to the entry fees and the payout for WCS.
Back in our Feb. meeting this is what was voted in. Last months meeting some changes were made but nothing was written down concerning the POWRi races. I thought it was just for the weekly races.
So now the entry fees for all races at WCS, except POWRi's class, which they set entry's and payout theirselves is as follows. Non-wing, Restictors and Jr's are $30 for members, $35 for non-members. All payouts are exactly the way they are put on the Website. Sorry for the confusion.

- POWRi April 27th WCS entry fees and payout -- Jeff, 20:05:10 04/25/07 Wed
I am going to try and explain the fees as simple as I can. POWRi drivers fees are $50 to join POWRi if you want to run for their National points. If you want to run for POWRi region points and National points then you have to join POWRi and Wayne County Speedway. Wayne County Speedway membership fee is $30. If you don't want to run for points you don't have to join either. Here is the fees at our track for our 5 POWRi races this summer. All POWRi drivers have to pay a $25 pit pass, then you will go to there trailer and pay their entry fee, which is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
For classes non-wing, restrictors and Jr. sprints you pay $50 for your entry and this includes your pit pass. This is for members of Wayne County Speedway, Non-members will pay an extra $5 on top of the $50. This sounds like alot but it isn't because we raised the payout by $20 for each finish position. So if you go to our website, click track info to look at the payout, add $20 to each place anytime it is a POWRi show.
Also If you like trophys, we will be giving out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Hope you have a big enough truck to haul them home in. Anymore ? feel free to call me tomorrow night or respond here. Hope this helps.
We have put alot of thought and work into the fees, payout and the track to try to make it one of the best shows of the year and hopefully the racers and the fans enjoy it enough to want to comeback. See ya Fri.

Free racing fuel when you Jr. Sprint racers with the Yamaha KT100 engine race at Wayne County Speedway this year. This is the only engine you can run at WCS in the Jr. Class.VP Racing Fuels have donated a drum of MS98 racing fuel designated at WCS as the only fuel you can run here. When you race with us Jr. Sprints you will get 1 gal. of MS98 each night you race with us until the drum is empty, unless I can get some more donated. You should only use approx. 1/2 gal. each night of racing. You will have to put a VP sticker on your car to show appreciation to VP. We will have these at the track. You will also have to get the Amzoil Dominator oil to mix with the fuel at a rate of 6 oz. per gal.
Keiser wheels have also donated to the Jr. class point fund to the highest finisher running Keiser wheels. this year. Hope you can make a point to race with us.

- NMMA MEETING St louis -- racerx, 12:26:49 02/04/07 Sun
The NMMA needs to realize that the current president, secretary, and some VP's is the main reason why the organization has failed. You cannot keep screwing, cheating, lieing to protect a (good buddy) that you should have s__t caned and or lining your pocketts.
I don't care what you change, what you come up with, it will be shot down. What you have been dishing out, no one wants to eat.
I know you will say(we didn't do nothing wrong) B.S. Read the NMMA Death on http://www.voy.com/208505/
Then if you still think it was right, you just stuck a gun to your head.
I would hope that you would have enough hindsight to know and remember all the (GOOD) people that have quit or just gone somewhere else because of your corruption.
Most people will not be back unless you give up your positions.
ps: Pull the trigger

Subject: Wayne County Speedway 2007 Season
Wayne County Speedway would like to say that we are very excited about the upcoming 2007 racing season. We have some very enthusiastic people helping WCS to move forward. We will be starting out the season with a POWRI outlaw show, also with 2 other classes; non-wing, restrictor or Jr. Sprints. We will be racing weekly's on Friday nights with Outlaw Multi's, Restrictor's, Non-wing's and JRs. We will be running POWRI rules in the multi's; non-wing and restrictor's rules may change slightly, Jrs will have a few changes which are: 1 engine- YAMAHA KT 100 ONLY, 1 FUEL ONLY--VP MS 98, 1 OIL AMZOIL SYNTHETIC ONLY. We will be doing away with the Can Muffler and going with a Tuned Pipe- KB 12 SPEEDWAY PIPE WITH HEADER. Most likely are going to raise the age limit to 14 {but must still be able to meet all safety requirements}. Full list of rules will be on our New Website coming soon. We are trying to keep rules simple and easy to tech, WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
We had no choice but to leave the NMMA due to very low NMMA car count.
WCS Awards Banquet will be held Jan. 6th at 5pm at the Wayne City Community Building. Any non-members that would like to attend contact Shannon for ticket info. Come out to this fun time and auction of alot of great merchandise and certificates.
We hope you will come and race with us this summer. We have several new races and changes planned for WCS in 2007. We look forward to seeing you at the track!
Any ?, you can contact us at WCS.

- NMMA Disapointment -- charles w neal, 18:52:15 11/21/06 Tue
Joe Smiley Pitstop Article Nov. 2006 page 11 - charles w neal (doc Chuck) 23:51:18 11/16/06
On page 11 Joe Smiley sts. "We do not allow rough driving of any kind and hold our drivers responsible for themselves and their pit crews conduct."
My son, 12 year old Kyle Neal R-38, sustained the only cussing of his life, at an NMMA event this past 2006 season in the pits at SIR. At the time of the rage, he was visiting with 3 other R drivers that witnessed his verbal assault.
The tongued woman had purchased a pit pass and signed in with her son, another R driver. Her husband, as you will recall, was Region 2 Chairman and my son had won the Illinois State race a couple weeks earlier at Wane City, with the Chairman's son finishing back in the pack.
I filed a written complaint to you, President Pat McGrath and Secretary Loretta Esworthy. You and Pat stated you had no power to do anything about her. As you will recall, you as Eastern V.P. and Pat as President stated to me. "I can't do anything about it." I received an official written response from Loretta Esworthy that was only 3 words, "Get over it." You and Pat said it had to come before the Board of Directors at the "Nationals" in Charleston for a proper hearing.
The hearing was held and my letter along with supporting documents of her verbage from adult witnesses who saw and heard this happen, was presented to the NMMA board members. As you will recall, nothing was done to the "responsible" driver or the fanged tongued pitcrew.
After the hearing Pat stated to me that "we are not going to do anything to this driver and we can't do anything to his mother because she is not an NMMA member."
When you personally as Eastern Vice President refused to enforce the rules and also did nothing to influence the National Board to enforce the rules, how can you now make such a statement in the PItStop to the membership of the NMMA?
2006 was the first year for Kyle and I to join and race in the NMMA. We thought we had joined a "family oriented organization." I am happy for LaRae and you that she was inducted to the Hall of Fame this year. Would you have enforced the rules if she had taken her first raged cussing at an NMMA event when she was 12???
Interesting that you close your article with "I HOPE WE NEVER CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

- 3 year Board of Directors election at SIMMA -- Multi"s- He knows who we are we dont need to sign our names., 10:55:17 11/14/06 Tue
This is just my opinion, but I do feel we should vote for Don Marks for our new 3yr. club board member. Don is one of the last of the origional people left in our club that haven't come and gone durning the past years, these people put their homes and money they made at their jobs to build this track for us to run on. He did his share of help since 1989 when the club was formed. He has been our Referee for years on and off.Region 2 Contest rep for years until the voting process was changed just lately. And Even when others walked off on our club, Don filled in everywhere.
He buys his own I card and the club doesn't have to pay for it, like they do other officers. I would like to see Don up for Life Time membership, too. Even though his work has keep him busy, he is always just a phone call away from each and every one of us.
Don has the clubs interest at heart, he has helped in all and every way he can.

Why was fuel pulled and sent off on the Jr's and Non-Wings this past Sat. night? It looks like, at least in my opinion, with the money it cost to send and test 9 samples, we could have purchased our own testing equipment. Not trying to stir up trouble, JUST CURIOUS!
