Practice at PIR for Mini Sprints -- mom of Junior Sprint Racer, 09:05:05 03/07/06 Tue
This weekend PIR track in Paducah will be having practice for all divisions this will include Junior Mini Sprints. Practice will be Saturday March 11th from 12 till 5 p.m. and again next Friday from 7pm till 10 p.m. They have bought all of T.K. 's stuff. They have not yet decided if they will race Juniors bi-weekly or not, maybe if several turn out there will be a place close to race on Fridays. They will be racing all other Sprints on a schedule. 2006 points fund for SIR -- Eric, 11:22:41 02/15/06 Wed
To everyone that was not at the February meeting. I brought up the subject about having a points fund for 2006 (all classes), this was voted on and it passed. This is how the monies will be generated (to start out with). The back stretch fence has a lot of space on it for advertising, granted that some signs that are there today will remain without cost, because of the help/donations etc. that they give to SIR. Other than that, the signs will be $200 for a half (4x4) or $400 for a full (4x8), this is for the 2006 season only, and 100% of the monies generated from this will go to the drivers point fund. Drivers, this is for you, hit people up, sell a sign. If 20 drivers sell one sign a piece that would be $8,000 in your points fund, not to shabby! If you have any questions, please attend the next meeting. March 7, 2006.

My name is Mark Osborne, and I, along with an older brother are writing and illustrating a book about the hometown dirt track that we grew up going to between 1957 and 1977. It was Sumter Speedway, in Sumter, South Carolina. I have completed to date, some eighty paintings that will be in our book, along with factual accounts, and stories from the drivers themselves. If you've ever listened to an older driver, you will know that their stories are captivating.

One reason that we are writing this book, is to show the younger generation what the cars looked like that raced in the days before the front wheel drives, power steering and automatic transmissions. We want to honor these great men, who today are in their 60's, 70's and 80's. Some sadly, are even gone today, and hopefully winning races at Heaven's Speedway. We want their grand children and great grand children to know just talented their granddads really were. They cannot and should not ever be forgotten.

These gentlemen paved the way for the superstars of today, while driving their Coupes and Coaches, Tudors', Bel Airs', Falcons', Chevelles' and Novas'. They shifted gears and took the turns sideways, all with the power that their own shoulders could muster. They wore T-shirts or overalls, with Keds, boots and even Penny Loafers. They were invincible. They were heroes to kids like us. They packed in the crowds back then, and made Saturday nights the only place a kid would want to be.

I wanted to show our prospective publisher that our book will be for everyone in America, and that the dirt track fan would be interested in it, regardless of where the book actually is written about. If you, the fan would be interested in seeing our collage of colorful old time race cars depicted in races, wrecking and even burning down the front stretch, please reply to this letter. The Pete Frazier Memorial is coming up fast. Come join us to remember our
fallen racer. T-Shirts and Trophies are almost done, 1900.00 almost raised this
will be spilt up and the winners will draw a number Saturday night 1-6 I think
a jr.sprint won 400.00 plus the purse and we are collecting donations to be
raffled for this years charity. This year we are helping Devin age 14 and Sam
age 13 the two Broken Arrow boys struck by lightning back in July. The recovery
has been tough, they remain in PICU at St. Francis Hospital and need our help.

lock in from Friday night will run a dash that will determine where they start

We have made a few changes on the rules for the Restrictor class for the Non-Wing Nationals. The age limit for the Restrictor class will still be 9-16, but if you have not ran the restrictor class this season as of today (July 26th) you CANNOT enter this class for the NWN.

Also, both nights of the Non-Wing Nationals will be TWU Local 514 corporate nights. Don't miss out, we have lots of give aways for the fans as well as tons of contingency stuff for the drivers! Last year we recieved over $7000 in contingency awards alone!!!

This in in response to the allegations that my daughter, my wife, or I are cheating in the junior class. I am here to tell who ever is making these statements or alligations that the Booten family does not nor will not cheat to win a race. This includes cheating with the motor, fuel, titanium axles, or in the scoring tower. We feel that if you cheat, you are not teaching your child any values. If you feel that we are cheating, then put up your $100.00 and protest whatever you think we are doing, but be prepared to loose your money, because as I already said, WE DON"T CHEAT! We need to stop all of this and try to get along this summer so that we can all have an enjoyable time at the track, not every one up in arms.

wings, 1 nose wing, 6 torsion bars, 2 new front spindles, bar front axle, 2 each 4 pin front hubs, 2 direct mount centers,2 new front sprockets (15 & 16 tooth)one new rear
sprocket, three front bead lock rims, has splined rear axle, 3 each 5 gallon gas jugs, 10 gallons of Sunoco Purple racing fuel, new Moroso fuel pressure gauge, set of alky carbs, also a 14X6 cargo trailer,has inside lights and tire rack in trailer, ramp rear door, electrical outlets in trailer and lights mounted to shine out side trailer as well. We know some of you don't like it because the races were cancelled but everyone should know, its more than one person making these decissions. Our club president and track workers and the other board members are the racers who meet early to decide. I for one am thankful they do it early enough to give me a chance to go to another track if they are not all rained out. We are luck in Region 2 to have so many tracks to give us a chance to run. My origional reason for putting this on here is to say, lets back TK with their race or go to Wayne Co. just maybe one or two of them will show up at SIR on the next night. We need to help back our tracks if we want to make a go of it.

Friday, November 26th gates open at 2pm for unload and setup, practice starts at 6:30pm. Pit passes $10 (No general admission)
Saturday, November 27th, gates open at 1pm, hot laps at 4, races start at 5pm. General admission $11, kids 10 & under- $6. Non-driver pit pass $25
Entry fee- $40, includes Saturday night pit pass
If not pre-entered by November 20th add $20.

Every one needs to attend the next two (2) meetings. They are very important. November 2nd is nominations for officers for 2005. Then in Dec. its the election of the officers. Last month was pittiful, other than the officers there were only a hand full of members. And if you have to work the night of election, ask for a absentee ballot, you can't just write on a paper who you want it has to be a official ballot as it has been past years.

Timothy Carter Jr. is an 18 month old little boy who suffers from a very rare disease called Tay-Sachs. This disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes destruction of the central nervous system.
