Subject: Rough driving

To: Head race Official at SIR

Matt Ellet (#16) and I would like to apologise for the rough driving at the regionla race Sunday night. Matt lost
his temper and bumping another car durring a race is un called for. I would only ask that you watch the #16
more closely the rest of the season. We have been beat on and run over all year. We were even ran into
from behind at the Nationals and put at the back of the field. When Matt protested, he was told that it was
“his fault”. Sunday night , everytime Matt would get in line after a caution he would be hit from behind.
Nothing was ever said to the other driver that I saw. Don’t get me wrong, I am not making excuses for
Matt’s behavior, but,you are teaching him that ruugh driving is OK when it’s not. I would hope that if
anything good comes out of this, it will be that you will watch the 16 car more closly to see that we are not
the instigators of rough driving. We are there to have a good time and to do our best. We are not there to be
picked on by every driver who thinks we are “in the way”.

As for the the incident after the checker flag. The 2 cars in front of the 16 spun each other out. one car
drove away and Matt spun trying to miss them. Matt never touched them except when he spun to avoid the
accident. I was standing 5 feet from the accident. I talked to 5 other spectators who were sitting on that turn
and they all saw the same thing. I think if you will talk to the driver of the other cars, they will tell you the
same thing as well.

PS
Please tell your officials that they are supposed to be professionals on the track. It’s bad enough to get black
flaged but when one of the officials makes a lude and unprofessional remark after the race it’s hard not to
want to knock his block off.
