Good morning sweet ladies, I want to start this morning with prayer and then move on from there.
FATHER, I ask YOU right now to give us eyes to see YOU, ears to hear YOU, and hearts that are open and receptive to what we see and hear. FATHER, engrave YOUR WORD onto the walls of our hearts and teach us what YOU have for us today. Use YOUR WORD to challenge our hearts and to cause us to hunger for more of YOU. Thank you so much that YOUR GRACE IS SUFFICIENT and that YOU walk beside us on the difficult roads that we sometimes must journey down. What a gracious and compassionate FATHER you are. Thank you so much for being who YOU are. Thank you for being faithful when we are not. Thank you for being loving when we are not. Thank you for being all that YOU are when we are undeserving and ungrateful for all that YOU have done in our lives. Thank you again, this morning, for the privilege of coming to you in prayer! Teach us now what YOU have for our hearts. In JESUS name I pray, AMEN!
My time in the WORD this morning was in Acts chapter twenty-one. I read this chapter this morning and the LORD JESUS reminded me that sometimes HE will call us to walk difficult roads. Sometimes we will be called on to do things that might seem too hard. Sometimes we are going to have to depend on the grace of our GOD in order to be who HE has called us to be. But ma'am, this is what walking by faith is about. It is about taking the next step even when you don't know for sure what is going to be under your foot when you set it down. It is about stepping off the edge of the precipice even when you aren't sure that there will be solid ground to support your step. It is about knowing that when GOD has called you to do something HE will enable you, EVEN AND ESPECIALLY when it seems like an impossibility. Can I remind you this morning that Luke 1:37 says: "With GOD all things are possible." Can I remind you also that ALL still means ALL. There are no exceptions to this....ALL means ALL. Let's take a quick look at a verse or two from this chapter. Acts 21:10-13
After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The HOLY SPIRIT says, 'In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.'" When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the LORD JESUS."
Yes, ladies, sometimes the road that we will be called on to travel will be difficult, but I wonder if we are truly willing to stay the course regardless of the difficulty. My prayer is that I would say with Paul, "LORD JESUS, whatever YOU call me to, I AM WILLING." How about you? Is this your desire? I would like to close this morning with a couple of verses and remind you that the FATHER does NOT call us to things that HE does not enable us to do. HE has reminded this morning that while the task may seem difficult or even impossible, HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT, and because HE has called me HE WILL EQUIP ME.
2 Corinthians 12:9 But HE said to me, "MY grace is sufficient for you, for MY power is made perfect in weakness."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 May GOD HIMSELF, the GOD of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. THE ONE WHO CALLS YOU IS FAITHFUL AND HE WILL DO IT.
Remember, when the road is hard and the journey seems too long HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT and HIS STRENGTH IS PERFECT IN OUR WEAKNESS!
Have a wonderful weekend and know that I have prayed for you today.
ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
