Good morning ladies. I began in the book of Esther this morning. I am looking forward to my time in this book and am anticipating that the FATHER has some great things to teach me from this portion of HIS WORD. Chapter one of this book is pretty much historic record of the deposition of Queen Vashti. Let's look at verses 16-18 of this chapter.
Then Memucan replied in the presence of the king and the nobles, "Queen Vashti has done wrong, not only against the king but also against all the nobles and the peoples of all the provinces of King Xerxes. For the queen's conduct will become known to all the women, and so they will despise their husbands and say, "King Xerxes commanded Queen Vashti to be brought before him, but she would not come." This very day the Persian and Median women of the nobility who have heard about the queen's conduct will respond to all the kings nobles in the same way. There will be no end of the disrespect and discord.
Before I share what the FATHER impressed on my heart this morning I want to turn over to Ephesians 5:22-24. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the LORD. For the husband is the head of the wife as CHRIST is the head of the church
HIS body, of which HE is the SAVIOR. Now as the church submits to the CHRIST, so the wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Before you decide that you don't want to read anymore and thus hit the delete button, please hear my heart this morning. For those of you who know me personally you know that submission is not an easy task for me. Growing up the way I did, I learned early on that I would have to take care of me if I was to be taken care of. Because of this early "training" in my mind, submitting to anyone or anything is difficult for me. This morning as I read the first chapter of Esther the FATHER said to my heart, "Vicky, submitting to the authority I have placed over you is an act of submitting to ME." What I have become keenly aware of in recent years is that submitting to the FATHER is always worth it. At times it seems that I am asked to do things that seem almost beyond my ability to do, but submission to HIS WILL always lead to peace and joy in my heart. Submitting our hearts to the FATHER will result in submitting our will to our husbands. If you will go back and look at Esther I want to share with you what I believe the LORD was driving home to me this morning. Ladies, I have said before and I will repeat now, we all have a circle of influence in our lives. Every one of us impacts the life of at least one other person...this is our circle of influence. Notice that the WORD tells us that Esther's lack of submission to the will of her husband would have an impact on all of the ladies in her direct influence. (Her sin of not submitting was a sin against her husband, but it was also a sin against all of those who would be impacted because of her choice.) Because she was the queen her influence was bigger than ours, but the principle is the same. When we refuse to offer a submitted heart to our husbands we HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF OTHER LADIES AROUND US. The FATHER has been showing me in recent days that if I will submit my heart to HIM, by submitting my hard head to my husband HE HAS A MIGHTY PLAN for our marriage. I don't know what that is, but with all of my heart I believe that the principle is true for each of us. If we would go to our knees and yield ourselves to the LORD JESUS in this area of our lives I believe that GOD could do mighty wonders in our homes. Please do NOT hear me suggesting that we act like door mats...I am suggesting sweet spirited submission to our husbands as a result of sweet spirited submission to our LORD. I leave you with this final thought today. The FATHER said to my heart this morning, "Vick, submitting your heart to your husband is an act of trusting ME; DO YOU TRUST ME VICKY?"
Think about it today. Your life will have a tremendous impact on others. Are you setting an example of submission to your husband?
Have a great day! Know that I am lifting you to HIS throne of grace.
ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
