Let's >look at the first three verses. Moses answered, "What >if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, >'The LORD did not appear to you'?" Then the LORD said >to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he >replied. The LORD said, "Throw it on the ground." >Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, >AND HE RAN FROM IT. >I wonder this morning has the FATHER ever placed >before you a task that made you turn and run? In my heart I have said, "BUT FATHER, what if >they don't believe me. What if they say, 'GOD has not >called YOU!" And HE said to my heart, "Vicky, WHAT IS >THAT IN YOUR HAND?" In other words, would you please >stop making excuses and look at what I have done in >the past four years. Would just step out and trust >that THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO? >Can I tell you this morning that it is scary to me? >The FATHER has clearly called me to go and make myself >vulnerable and to ask for an opportunity that I am so >afraid of. I am afraid of being told, "Nope, your not >qualified...as far as we are concerned." Or "Nope, we >know your history...you won't work well in our venue." > As I sit here this morning and my heart wants so much >what I know the FATHER wants to do with me, but I am >afraid of the people that I must go to in order for >GOD to do this thing. >That is what Moses was saying to GOD here in Exodus >chapter four. Perhaps, you are having this same >discussion with HIM this morning. I know that I have >over and over during the last several months. I have >procrastinated because I am afraid. Afraid of my own >lack of ability, afraid of being laughed at by those >in authority over me, afraid to say that I have a >dream that I believe GOD put in my heart. This >morning the FATHER has clearly SPOKEN...it is funny to >me right now because I asked HIM to speak this chapter >into my heart in a new way today. Four years ago this >chapter was about letting go of my own security and >picking up the security that the FATHER was offering >to me. Today, again HE has said, "VICKY, throw down >your security and DO THIS THING. I know it looks like >a big scary snake, but if you will pick it up BY THE >TAIL...I will do what ONLY I COULD POSSIBLY DO." >Ladies, I would like to encourage you this morning to >seek the face of your FATHER and ask HIM if there is >something HE is calling you to that you are afraid to >follow through on. Ask HIM to put HIS finger on it in >your life and to lead your feet to the door that HE >wants you to walk through. Ask HIM to fill your heart >with courage that ONLY HE COULD GIVE YOU. Then do the >thing that you fear, and watch GOD WORK. >As we continue through the book of Exodus that is what >we are going to observe. GOD is going to use Moses to >lead HIS people out of bondage. > >Before I close for today I want to let you know that I >will not be posting next week.
