Good morning y'all. My heart is overwhelmed this morning as I consider myself in comparison to the Israelites. I have looked at the last part of Exodus 14, all of Exodus 15, and all of Exodus 16 this morning and as I have read this over several times I have seen myself. This is not a beautiful picture, but it is real. Let's take a look. You see, ladies, I believe that if we ask the FATHER to apply HIS WORD to our hearts HE WILL DO THAT. I believe that if we truly want to see ourselves through the eyes of the WORD of GOD, The GOD of the WORD will open our eyes and allow us to see ourselves as we truly are. Look at Exodus 14:31. And When the Israelites saw the great power the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in HIM and in Moses HIS servant.
Now drop down and look at Exodus 15:22-24 & 27. Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?" Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet.
Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they campted there near the water.
Now look with me at Exodus 16:1-3 The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, "If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death."
Let's get a little perspective on this. GOD has marched this assembly of people out of the bonadage of Egypt, HE lead them straight through the MIDDLE of the Red Sea on dry ground. This is how HE got them out of Egypt AFTER performing miracle after miracle to convince Pharaoh that he should let GOD's people go. Notice that they are just barely three days out of the Red Sea and they are complaining and questioning GOD's ability to care for them. SO, GOD again provides the need they have. HE gives them water that they can drink and then HE leads them to camp near twelve springs of water. As we follow this story and get down into chapter 16 we read that they are about 45 days out of the Red Sea and they are complaining again. Now I wonder how could they forget so soon...and YET, Ma'am, I find that I often fall into this same scenario. GOD does huge things in my life all the time. HE allows me to see HIM as HE is. HE allows me to enter into HIS presence morning after morning and then HE surrounds me with HIS presence all day everyday. HE offers me peace that cannot even be explained. HE says that HE will supply my every need. HE says that HE will over and above what I could even imagine. Ladies, HE promises to NEVER EVER LEAVE me....and yet, I complain and grumble at the slightest inconvenience. HOW UNGRATEFUL. I find myself this morning asking HIM to make me ever aware of my tendency for ingratitude. I am asking HIM to forgive me for being short sighted and for often times forgetting who HE IS. Honesty requires that we look deep into our heart's and ask HIM to examine us and to reveal in us the things that don't honor HIM. My heart desires to be the woman that HE created me to be. My heart desires to walk with HIM in purity and honesty and openness. Before we get too zealous about shaking our heads and wagging our fingers into the faces of the unfaithful Israelites, we would be wise to ask the FATHER to show us our own heart's. Ladies, I believe that we need to get before HIM and ask HIM to make us aware of our short sightedness and our sinful actions and attitudes. You see, I think that we get accumstomed to our creature comforts and then we think that we are entitled to these things and we lose our sense of gratitude to HIM for ALL that HE has done and given us in our lives.
My challenge to you this weekend is to find ways to keep yourself aware of all that HE has given you. Ask HIM to reveal to you areas that you need to confess as unthankfulness and ingratitude. Ask HIM to show you where you look like the Israelites.

FATHER, may we see our hearts as they truly are. May we NEVER take for granted that YOU have given us YOUR WORD to teach us HOW TO LIVE. YOU have provided for us everything for life and godliness and yet we complain about the things that we perceive to be lacking. Please allow me to see my own sinfulness. FATHER, show me myself in the light of YOUR WORD. May I never forget all that YOU have done in my life. May I never get over the power of YOUR WORD. May I never get used to the privilege of coming before YOUR THRONE and lifting others to YOU. May I be ever aware of who I am in YOUR EYES. Thank you so much for making me YOUR OWN. What an awesome GOD YOU ARE. I love you! It is in the MATCHLESS NAME OF JESUS that I pray. AMEN!

Ladies, have a great weekend. Know that even when we fail and fall into sin for a time, GOD HAS A PLAN FOR OUR LIVES. HE wants to redeem our past and use us for HIS GLORY. Are you allowing HIM to use your life?
Let me hear from you. Have a sweet day with JESUS!

ONLY and ALWAYS Because of HIM-
Vicky
