Good morning ladies! Fasten your seat belts before you read any further because what I saw this morning in Exodus 25 is so huge...Let's jump right into the WORD of GOD. I am going to type for you the first nine verses.
Then the LORD spoke to Moses saying, "Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for ME; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise MY contribution. And this is the contribution which you are to raise from them: gold, silver, and bronze, blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair, rams' skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood, oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, onyx stones and setting stones, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. And let them construct a sanctuary for ME, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.
Let's answer a few questions here.
Who does this refer to? The sons of Israel.
What are they to do? They are to take an offering and build a sanctuary.
When are they to do it? At that moment...do it now.
Where are they to do this? Right there in the desert...where found themselves at the moment.
Why are they to do this? So that they can have a place for GOD to dwell among them.
How are they to do this? According to the directions that GOD gives them.
Ladies, this is huge.
Let's look at it one question at a time this morning and make personal application.
Who: The sons of Israel. Are you wondering what's the big deal. If you go back to the beginning of the book of Exodus (you probably don't need to do that) you will remember that this was a nation of people who had been slaves. This was a people that had spent 400 years living as slaves in a foreign land and now the GOD of GLORY has come to them and SPEAKS to them. GOD came and set them free from that slavery. Who, is very important!
What: They are to offer the materials and build HIM a sanctuary. Think about that for just a minute. GOD...The ONE who spoke and creation came from nothing....has asked this group of slaves that HE HAS SET FREE to take up an offering and to build a sanctuary for HIM.
When: They were to get busy...do it now...GET 'ER DONE!
Where: Right there where found themselves.
Why: So that the GOD OF GLORY could dwell among them. Ladies, that is so far beyond what my heart and mind can imagine that all I can think to say is: WOW! Think about it...GOD asked this group of freed slaves to build for HIM a place to dwell.
How: Just like GOD told them to...ACCORDING TO THE PLANS.
LET'S DRAW THE PARALLEL:
Who: You and me and everyone that the LORD JESUS has set free. IT WAS FOR FREEDOM THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE. GOD wants YOU, yes Ma'am, I did say that HE wants YOU. You and I have lived in slavery; perhaps, sometimes we still hang around in those old places where we are slaves. Even still YOU and I are the Who that this passage can be applied to!
What: We are to offer HIM all that HE has given us in order to make our heart a sanctuary where HE can dwell.
When: RIGHT NOW...we are to do this AS WE ARE GOING!
Where: We are to do it RIGHT WHERE WE ARE. Regardless of whether that is in the palace or the wilderness. Wherever YOU live...that is where you are to be offering and constructing a sanctuary for GOD the FATHER, and the LORD JESUS CHRIST to dwell. It does not matter what your circumstance or situation is today...GOD WANTS TO DWELL AMONG YOU!
Why: BECAUSE THE GOD OF GLORY WANTS TO DWELL WITH YOU. That ladies, is beyond what my mind can even comprehend....and yet, I know it is true because we see it right here in the WORD OF GOD. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!? I won't pretend to know why GOD chose us. I won't offer any reason for why HE chose to reach down into the slime pit where I was living and lift me up and set my feet on the SOLID ROCK of JESUS CHRIST...HE did it because HE WANTS TO DWELL WITH ME AND WITH YOU! The WORD is clear that GOD does this because it pleases HIM.(Ephesians 1)
Ponder that for a few minutes today...I think you will find it is grounds for shouting GLORY GLORY HALLELUJAH!
How: How are we to build this sanctuary? Dear Sweet Lady, we are to be building according to the plan that GOD has given us. We find this plan in HIS WORD. HE will reveal it to us moment by moment as we come and seek HIS face and ask HIM to make us what ONLY HE could make us. I don't know about you, but Ma'am that is really great news to me!

I hope that you have been encouraged this morning as we have taken a very brief look at GOD's commissioning the Children of Israel to erect for HIM a sanctuary in which HE could dwell among them. I hope that YOU will ask HIM to write this on YOUR heart today. I hope that you will spend some time asking HIM to make this more real to you than ever before!

O FATHER, thank you for Exodus chapter 25. Thank you for what YOU said to my heart this morning. Thank you for calling us to build for you a sanctuary to dwell among us. While my mind is blown away by this thought, my heart is overwhelmed by your gracious offer. The sanctuary is the place where we fellowship with YOU! Thank you for offering to dwell among us...thank you for coming in and living inside of our hearts. Thank you for being a gracious, compassionate, loving FATHER. Thank you for providing what we need in order for this relationship to be possible. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO OFFERS US THIS SWEET RELATIONSHIP....May we take YOU up on the offer. May we be coming to YOU moment by moment and living daily in sweet fellowship with YOU. I love you. I am amazed again by what YOU have shared with my heart this morning. May I never take for granted all that YOU HAVE GIVEN ME. I pray this prayer in the MATCHLESS NAME OF JESUS...AMEN!

Ladies, my heart is crying out to the FATHER that HE would capture your heart and draw you closer and closer still to HIM.
