IN THE PRESENCE OF JEHOVAH -- Above and Beyond

Subject: IN THE PRESENCE OF JEHOVAH

Good morning ladies! This morning I watched Moses approach the GOD of heaven. In my mind this scene was breathtaking. Let's look together at Exodus 24 and then I want to make the application for our lives today. Let's start with verses one and two. Then HE said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel and you shall worship at a distance. Moses alone, however, shall come near to the LORD, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him."
When I read that the first time this morning I noted that they would be worshipping from a distance. Ladies, can you imagine this with me for just a minute. The GOD of GLORY called to Moses and said, "I want you to come and worship me." WHAT AN INVITATION. Moses was told that he alone would get to come close...He was the one chosen to have up close and personal, intimate contact with HOLY GOD. WOW, WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY. Let's look at verse four. And Moses wrote down all the WORDS of the LORD. Then he arose EARLY IN THE MORNING, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain with the twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
Here I noted that Moses rose EARLY IN THE MORNING. There is NO substitute for spending the first moments of any day with the LORD JESUS. I think it is particularly interesting that throughout the WORD of GOD we find great men of faith rising early to meet with the GOD of HEAVEN. This begs the question: Do you have time for the FATHER first thing in your day? Think about it. Consider the things that you make time for and then ask HIM to examine your heart and show you where you can make time for HIM...it might mean a sacrifice of something else, but I assure you NOTHING IS OF GREATER IMPORTANCE. Meeting with the FATHER first thing in the day sets the tone for the whole day. I challenge you to try it for yourself. Set your clock 15 minutes earlier and get up and spend time sitting in HIS PRESENCE before you rush into the busyness of the day. Let's move on from here. Verses 9-11 show us a really neat picture. We are told in these three verses that Moses and the people went up and THEY SAW THE GOD OF ISRAEL and THEY BEHELD HIM. What an image that conjures up in my mind as I sit here and ponder those words. Ma'am, have you stopped long enough lately to just behold HIM...have you taken the time to sit and look into HIS FACE. We shall behold HIM one day...I want to have spent time from now until then beholding HIS FACE every day. The neat thing about that is this: that is the privilege that is ours. Dear Sweet Lady, stop for a minute right now and consider those words...You absolutely can spend time every single day BEHOLDING HIS GLORY. WOW and WOW and more WOW! My heart is shouting GLORY, GLORY, GLORY.
Think about this...the GOD of HEAVEN has invited you to come into HIS PRESENCE...that is so huge that my mind almost cannot comprehend the magnitude of such an offer. Over in the book of Hebrews we are told that we can COME BOLDLY into HIS PRESENCE.
When you read through the rest of Exodus 24 you will find that GOD called Moses to come a little closer, in fact, HE invited Moses to come all the way into the center of HIS GLORY CLOUD. Again, my heart and mind sit in wonder and awe at this awesome invitation. Here is the thing to keep in mind...TODAY, because of all that CALVARY purchased for you and for me, we can come ALL THE WAY into the center of the GLORY CLOUD. We have an open invitation every single day of our lives. I have to ask, Are you coming? Are you taking this opportunity for granted and letting it pass you by? Dear lady, KNOW this:
GOD has a most amazing plan for your life, but YOU MUST take advantage of the opportunities that HE gives you. You cannot sit and do nothing...YOU MUST APPROACH HIM. Would you stop right now, sit there in your chair, go the knees of your heart, and ask the LORD JESUS to make this real to you. Ask HIM to show you the glory that you are missing if you aren't coming day by day and moment by moment. You see, it is in the moment by moment of every day that we learn to walk in HIS SPIRIT close to HIS HEART. My heart is truly overwhelmed as I sit and consider this. I am sitting this morning at my husband's desk...on the wall across from his desk is big picture of the Swiss Alps...the tops of the mountains are cloud covered. It is really a beautiful picture...I can imagine Moses standing in the midst of those clouds reveling in the GLORY of GOD. Ma'am, would you allow the LORD JESUS to wrap you in HIS PRESENCE this morning and to usher you directly into the throne room of your HEAVENLY FATHER. That is huge! I hope that you will come and sit a while with the KING OF GLORY, who gave everything HE had in order that YOU could enjoy SWEET FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM...IN THE PRESENCE OF THE GLORY CLOUD.

O FATHER, thank you so much for this awesome invitation. Thank you that we don't have to worship from a distance. Thank you for the cross that purchased us direct access into your very throne room. What an amazing thought. How can we even say thank you for this. FATHER, may we NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take for granted what YOU have provided for us. May I NEVER get used to the idea of entering YOUR PRESENCE...WOW, what an opportunity! Hold my heart close to YOUR own today. FATHER, make me the woman that YOU created me to be. YOU ARE SO WONDERFULLY GOOD TO ME! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that YOU are and for all that YOU enable me to be. It is amazing to me to consider that YOU KNOW MY NAME....YOU LOVE ME...YOU HAVE PROVIDED ALL THAT I NEED TO LIVE AND WALK WITH YOU! What a blessing.
It is the MATCHLESS, HOLY NAME OF JESUS THAT I PRAY...AMEN!

Ladies, my heart's cry for you today is that you would experience HIS PRESENCE as you never have before, and that you would never, never, never get over it! Have a wonderful day!
