HE IS FAITHFUL -- Above and Beyond

Good morning ladies! This morning the FATHER has reminded me that HE is faithful... YES, even when we are not. Let's take a look at Exodus 33:1-2 for starters this morning. There is so much in this chapter that the FATHER used this morning to encourage my heart, but let's start right here at the beginning.
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, "Depart, go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up from the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "To your descendants I will give it." And I will send an angel before you and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite.
SO WHAT! Is that what you are thinking...BIG DEAL VICKY, I am not facing Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, or Jebusites...I am facing illness in my child, death in my loved ones, insecurity in my job, frustration in my marriage. What does all of this have to do with MY LIFE TODAY? Is that what you are thinking? It is what I think about when I see promises like this one in the WORD of GOD. You see, you and I don't face foreign people that we must go and conquer in order to live in the promised land that the LORD JESUS died to purchase for us. No, you and I face different problems and circumstances today...BUT ARE THEY REALLY DIFFERENT? I don't think so. I think that when you boil it all down our problems today are not so much different from what they faced back then. I also think that our reactions to our problems today are not much different from the way those OBSTINATE ISRAELITES reacted back then. O, BUT WOULD YOU LOOK AT HOW OUR FATHER RESPONDED TO THEIR REACTIONS. They reacted to loneliness and the lack of leadership by building a god of gold. They reacted to the desire for meat by complaining about the provision GOD had given. They reacted to thirst by murmuring and complaining against the very one that GOD had sent to lead them...DOESN'T THAT SOUND JUST LIKE YOU AND ME?
Ladies, we would be wise to stop and examine the heart of our FATHER in these two verses. Look at what HE said to Moses immediately following the incident with the golden calf. "Depart, go up from here...to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "To your descendants I will give it." In our modern day language..."I am going to remain faithful to you and keep MY promise to you DESPITE THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY TURNED YOUR HEART AWAY FROM ME." What an amazing display of HIS GRACE and MERCY on behalf of HIS PEOPLE. Ladies, here is the point: THAT IS THE SAME GOD THAT YOU AND I SERVE TODAY. Have you found yourself lately in a place of sinful actions and attitudes? Do you find yourself running back to the lure of the world? Have you decided that you know more than those who GOD has called to lead you? If so, I encourage you to stop and look into the face of your FATHER and hear HIS VOICE TO YOU THIS MORNING SAYING THIS, "MY DEAR SWEET CHILD, GET UP AND CLAIM THE PROMISE THAT I HAVE MADE TO YOU...I AM OFFERING YOU A SWEET RELATIONSHIP WITH MYSELF THROUGH THE SACRIFICE THAT MY SON MADE ON YOUR BEHALF." Ladies, how in the world could we pass that up? Can you look into HIS FACE this morning and say, "No thanks...I don't need that today." Does your heart long for something other than HIM? You might think so, but be assured of this...HE CREATED YOU WITH A LONGING FOR HIMSELF...ask HIM to make that real to you today. Ask HIM to fill your heart with a hunger for HIM that cannot be satisfied. Ask HIM to give you a desire for MORE AND MORE AND MORE OF HIM.
HE told the people that HE would send an angel to drive out their enemies...HE will do this for you too. However, I do not believe HE waves a wand over our lives and makes it all so easy that we just skate along. No, ladies, our lives are difficult, but that only causes us to cling to HIM all the more. You see, knowing that we can't do it without HIM SHOULD drive us to HIM. That is my prayer for you today and will be throughout this weekend. I will be asking HIM to overwhelm your heart with the reality that while you face difficult days YOU NEED HIM MORE NOW THAN EVER. I will be asking HIM to teach you to ask for hardship, if that is what it will take to keep you coming to HIM. I don't ever want to go back to clinging to idols. I don't ever want to get to the place where I am comfortable and satisfied with what I know of HIM...I WANT TO ALWAYS WANT MORE... and Ma'am...I want that for you too!

DEAR SWEET LORD JESUS, ENGRAVE THE TRUTH OF YOUR WORD ON OUR HEARTS TODAY. MEET THESE PRECIOUS LADIES WHERE THEY ARE TODAY. MAY WE LEARN TO EMBRACE OUR HEART ACHES AND ALLOW THEM TO CAUSE US TO CLIMB UP CLOSER INTO YOUR LAP. MAY WE COME AND OPEN OUR HEARTS AND BARE OUR SOULS TO YOU. MAY WE LEARN THAT NOTHING IS TOO COSTLY IF IT CAUSES US TO DRAW CLOSER AND CLOSER STILL TO YOU. FATHER, POUR YOUR SPIRIT OUT ON US. MAY WE REALIZE THAT YOU ARE WORKING IN OUR DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES. MAY WE COME AND ASK YOU TO FILL THE EMPTY PLACES IN OUR HEARTS. MAY WE WAIT FOR YOU TO DO THE WORK IN US THAT ONLY YOU CAN DO...AND WHILE WE WAIT MAY WE NEVER NEVER NEVER TURN BACK TO ANOTHER god. FATHER, KEEP OUR HEARTS EVER LONGING FOR MORE OF YOU...DO THIS WHATEVER IT TAKES...HEART ACHE, HEART BREAK...WHATEVER!
I LOVE YOU JESUS. I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALLOWING ME TO COME INTO YOUR PRESENCE. IT IS AN OVERWHELMING THOUGHT THAT YOU, GOD, HAVE INVITED ME TO COME AND SIT A SPELL WITH YOU. WOW! MY HEART IS OVERWHELMED YET AGAIN! IT IS IN THE MATCHLESS HOLY NAME OF THE LORD JESUS THAT I PRAY THIS PRAYER...AMEN!

Ladies, I hope that GOD is engraving the truth of HIS WORD onto your heart. I hope that everyday you are a little more hungry than you were the day before. My prayer for myself and for you is that HE would give us an insatiable desire to KNOW HIM and LOVE HIM MORE AND MORE AND STILL MORE! I'll be praying for you over the weekend and look forward to talking to you next week. On Monday, we will pick back up with Exodus 33...this chapter is so rich. Maybe you will take some time over the weekend to read through it and ask the LORD JESUS to speak it into your heart.
