PB, I can definitely appreciate how you and J.R. must have felt during that time. So many people (the public and players alike) have bought into the "Wayne Gretzky is a hero, god" thing that it makes me want to vomit.

His actions and words over the last couple of decades has shown that he is NOT what the hockey pundits try so hard to make him out to be. His word means nothing. I remember when the sale of the Coyotes was being negotiated, Wayne went on record on how important Nikolai Khabibulin was to the Coyotes and how he will definitely sign him (ending his holdout), blah, blah, blah. But as soon as the deal goes through, where is Nikolai? - in Florida.

He broke his word (and written agreement) to the Players' Association regarding the training regiment for the Canadian Hockey team during that little mini Olympic camp they held at the beginning of last season. And he obviously screwed over Roenick and Amonte. And I won't go into the problems he had with the former owners of the Coyotes or his comments about the Devils being a Mickey Mouse organziation that's ruining the NHL.

Wayne is nothing more than an egotistical, self-centered, control freak who obviously believes his own publicity. J.R. and Amonte are probably better off not having to deal with this slob anymore.
