I do not make my mother cry you ponce..... merely whimper. I am looking forward to preparing the roast potatoes this year though. i have been watching numerous cooking shows and have compiled all the infomation into a full-proof way gaining maximum crispyness... par-boil, drain, "fluff" the spuds up in the collinder so they crumble at the edges, cover with some seasoned flour, then place into a pre-heated dish that contains half lard, and half vegtable oil. Make sure all of the potatoes ar fully covered in the oil all over, then cook until golden brown and crispy. Voila innit.

Thanks to everyone who came to the bunker gig last night, was a spendid evening. "Sue Lawley" indeed.x

on bbc 2 at about one o clock
"The Witchfinder General."
a serious and gritty sixties portrayal of witchunting in the sixteenth centurty. according to the 1997 Time Out Film Guide a "minor subtle masterpiece" with "majestic use of the Norfolk countryside"

or starting a little later on bbc 1
"The Evil Twins"
starring christopher lee as a puritan hunting out the wicthes fom his own community(essentially a girls prep school). he has two sixteen year old nieces staying with him, and theres an evil count talking crap all the time.
"essentially you get the impression that this film revolves around engineering situations where the female characters disrobe for the benefit of the camera".

1. You have to get the fat really hot before you put it in the oven.

2. I love Risk, it is the best board game ever, especially for an anti imperialist such as myself. I always win. Well I do if my stratejy goes to plan. It is the best stratejy ever.

3. I have photos from the bunker. And the pub. I am open to bribes not to put them on the internet.

4. My husband and I (not really, obviously) will be in London having a relative free christmas (don't worry Daniel, I make my mother cry uncontrollably) so, y'know, if you get thirsty or anything, give us a bell.

xx

I'm so glad Sue Lawley is still spanning the messageboards of the upper quartile of the music world.

Anyway...

Duckie plans are to spend minimum time in the company of parents. I'll be hosting my mum for Christmas dinner, then attempting see my dad for an amount of time that is both acceptable and bearable. I'm sure those are mutually exclusive. But yes, we'll be back as early as possible on the 27th to spend our precious days off work going to the playground, trips to the cinema and Rock Steady Eddies, spending my Christmas bonus in the pub and having tea and home-made cakes in the Pond. We may well to go Brighton due to the ridiculous ease with which we can fall out of our front door onto a train. We had lots of other plant I can't remember right now but no doubt they're written on a post it note on our kitchen wall. We welcome accompaniment and further suggestions. XXX
