Subject: Merry Christmas

Just a simple happy Christmas message to all of Special Needs. I hope to see you play in the New Year, all refreshed and raring to go. Thanks for all the gigs in recent months, for the Christmas CD and for the sweetness of those who I've met. You've truly been THE discovery of 2004 for me.

Thanks Leonora. It's been very nice to make your acquaintance too.

Th last two days has been a bit frustrating. My mother is showing signs of dementia, I've got problems with my gums and showing withdrawal symptoms. Exacerbated by the image of a concrete Ireland inhabited by materialistically driven hordes. Listened to a radio programme this morning where they asked these tiny kids what they could have for Christmas if they could have anything. Half of them said a massive house in America with a swimming pool and loads of money. What happened to the days when kids wished for a bike or even a computer game? The Celtic Tiger has swallowed Ireland's heart.
Queen Kong gig in the kitchen tonight. Should pick me up a bit.
