I am cutting and pasting this here as it came from one of there emails to me and others I see.

Here is the latest.

Mick & I decided to take the website down as someone hacked into our server and decided to use 40% of our resources. The hack made it look as everything was fine but it was cloaked (Stealth hack) and they had put failsafe programs in. Was this a novice hacker no, the hack was professional and non-American too.

They did not crash the website. Someone out side the US just came in (due to server not LOCKED DOWN at the time.) and decided to use our server as a STORAGE site (known as a DROP site) for their files. Their hack, cut off our ability to control 20% of the server and had slowed our speed and taken 40% of HD space and the memory to control that portion.

I told Pete and Chris to back-up everything as of the last good night and format the HD�s. We did that and the hosting company put a new operating system on and the hardware troubles started. We have had to replace 2 hard drives & CD Rom. Then after some more testing we were having load balance problems and because this was a holiday weekend. It will not be until tonight or tomorrow morning when the website will be back up. Due to shipping and having someone to deliver the items where the box is located. So we are waiting on a brand new motherboard and new processors.

The good thing that happen about this is we are fixing the server, as it was a time bomb anyways. With the amount of traffic we do monthly, it was just a matter of time before we would have started to lose data and then go down smoking. So yes we were hacked, but we did not like that we did not have control over 100% of the server. So we decided to take care of the cancer by having the admin format the HD�s. Along the way we found hardware problems and so the last 4 days are due to trouble shooting and finding more hardware problems along the way. By tonight or tomorrow morning we should have the website up, I would bet it would be in the morning or some time until noon.

Were they trying to hurt the website? NO

Were they trying to bring us down? NO

They just were USING OUR RESOURCES (Known as a DROP SITE) and making sure we could not kick them off which meant we would have to turn the servers off. Which we decided not to play their game.
