Ok, I got a little experimental. I went to the gunshow on Sunday and bought a brick of that Aguila .22 ammo that has no powder in it. It's rated at 550 fps.

Well, I got curious, so I grabbed a log with the smooth sided (hardest side) facing me with a telephone book to back it up.

I chambered one round in a pistol and proceeded to pull the trigger. Well I heard a bang and then something hit my chest hard. I was no more then 3 feet away from the log. The little 20 grain bullet flatten in half as it hit the log and bounced onto my chest. It did bounce off my chest, but it did sting a little. Ok no damage to my sweat shirt or me. (These 2 years of weight lifting helped. :) Oh yea, bare a noticable dent on the log.

Now this ammo is suppose to be quiet and I was told that it was no more louder then a hand clap. Well, those have to be pretty big hands, clapping hard. Perhaps out of a rifle, it'll be much quieter. This was the ammo reviewed in SGN a while back.
