Subject: And now for something completely new...

Right. I for one am utterly bored with this pointless bickering about bands being good or otherwise. I think the Transplants are shite, Kevin doesn't. No amount of message board typing is likely to change either of our opinions.

So.

A change is needed, unless (as I believe was discussed in a previous post) we are to stagnate and, eventually die. Virtually speaking of course.

I propose that each of the regular posters on this message board post either a band or a song that they think everyone should listen to, along with a short description of WHY everyone should listen to them. And no, "bcos they r gud" will NOT suffice. For now only one song / band each though, or things will start getting silly. Then, the rest of us can download the song / band and post well reasoned comments discussing its merits and / or failings.

I suggest that the following rules should be loosely adhered to:

1: Well known songs or bands should be avoided. If everybody knows it, what's the point?
2: Don't put a long list of songs or bands that are all similar, if someone's not into one screamo band they probably won't be into the next 15.
3: Post details about the band - where they're from, website, record label, whatever. If I find a new band I love, I want to find out more!
4: Don't be wilfully obscure for the sake of it. I'm gonna find this one hard...
5: Don't post Coheed and Cambria, they are wank.

I reckon this'll just turn into a big argument about whether band X is shit or not. Prove me wrong!
