Basic html really isn't that hard. This is my site and it only took a day or to to make (excuse the wonky writing, broken links and tiling background though!)

I used frontpage express (you've probably got that somewhere on your computer if you've got windows) and the lissa explains website here. Once i did the front page the rest was just copy and paste really. It's hosted on boomspeed so there are no pop-ups and i've got a more simple address from dot tk which only had one small pop up. Anyway, you've got the whole of the holidays to suss html out.
