Subject: Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight...

I left work half an hour early today so i could get my ass into town and purchase the new Dropkick Murphys album 'Blackout' and also AFI's 'Girls Not Grey' single. Anyway i think it's pretty damn good but it's more folkier than their past stuff. There are still loads of good songs though - a cover of Woody Guthrie's 'Gonna Be A Blackout tonight', a cover of 'Fields of Athenry' and a good version of a tradition Irish song called 'Black Velvet Band'. Their own original stuff is good too - they have this song called 'The Dirty Glass' which is kinda their 'Fairytale of New York' with a male/female duet with the female in the role as a barmaid which is quality. Also they've done this really catchy song about their favourite Ice Hockey team the Bostone Bruins called 'Time To Go'. All in all it is a class, well produced CD which contains a Bonus DVD! Go get it.
