I mean how can anyone learn a particular style of playing I.E. Swing, Rock'n'roll, Punk, Rock, Jazz etc as all these styles just evolved over time by people just picking up guitars and other instruments and just doing what felt natural to them. I used to manage a Punk band back in the 80's who's guitarist(sadly deceased) was both natural and gifted and he just played what came to him. I also knew another guitarist(again self taught) who was amazing,he could play almost any song you wanted and make it sound like the original artist yet he couldn't write original songs to save his life. I had another friend who was not a natural bass player but he just practised and practised to improve.
I guess what i am saying is just pick up and play your guitar as often as you can(or feel like)and you will develop. You don't really need to have someone tell what's right and wrong and then charge you £15+ an hour for the privilege(after all many guitar tutors are only failed musicians)
