I agree people can pick up a guitar and practice and practice and not pay the £15, i know thats me, if i could afford to though i would pay for this. Getting lessons is all about imporving your technique towards certatin aspects of your playing so that you can accomplish what you would find very hard just sitting around and playing by yourself. Lessons also teach you the theory behind your said instument (if you want to learn it that is) which can also be damn helpful. Were all entitled to our views Nige but comming on here and slagging people off for wanting to pay for learning there instrument is not the way to go about things. I know that kind of ignorant attitude is not what you like to see in respects to other subjects. As you say when it comes down to it, music comes from you as a person and without that your are never gong to be a massively brilliant song writer etc. But at the end of the day if someone wants to get a tutor to learn certain things they find !HARD TO LEARN ON THEIR OWN! then good luck to them. We all need people to point us the right direction now and then.
