the thing is, no one's gonna pay for a gig with bands they don't want to see, especially if it's expensive. if (for example) gbh played with, say, freaks and another old schoolish punk band supporting for seven or eight quid i probably wouldn't go, 'cos i can't really afford that for a band i don't really like and a band i've seen a million times. kinda like when peter and the test tube babies played moriarties and no one went i suppose.

what hull really lacks is a decent mid size venue, like the cockpit in leeds. although to be fair i hate the cockpit, but quite a few bands play there. then again, i spose the welly could fill that gap. oh i dunno. it's all too hard.

on a completely different note, when we saw against me in leeds it was in the packhorse, which is smaller than the adelphi. boy was that good!
