The old "Smash It Up" days were great Nigel, but i suspect you are biased as you are Mr. Smash It Up. What i liked about those days was that you would DJ and play a variety of punk rock tracks - and this was how i first heard of Anti-Flag. It does sadden me that attendances are only high at the gigs of bands that everyone has seen dozens of times already and yet when bands from around the country come here hardly anyone turns up to see them. No wonder bands ignore coming to Hull when this type of thing goes on. Personally, i try to go out to as many gigs as i can BUT i appreciate that people have to budget because i have to. Hull is very Adelphi-centric but it definitely has the best atmosphere due to its lack of size. Previous venues that you've tried out Nigel were just quite simply appalling like the Hogs Breath but i did like Moriarity's a lot because of the Bank Holiday all-dayers that were on there. Why can't bigger punk bands play at places such as the Ice Arena or Hull University? Every other University seems to have its share of good gigs but here there is just nothing!
The Adelphi is just too small for a vast majority of the big bands we would love to see play here, but is great for local bands to play.

Hey ho i've gotta go to the punk rock show! Hope your finger doesn't drop of Al, best to seek a professional opinion i think!
