Hi Tessa,

I breed King Quails and I've experienced this problem. They are killed because you have too many qauils in the one cage. If you split them up (ie keep 1 cock and either 1 or 2 hens in the cage) you'll find the killing stops. Unfortunately you may need a second aviary to house the other quails.

Once they get past the first day be careful with your water dish as the babies can and will drown. Make sure you only have shallow water dishes eg 1 cm of water.

Lastly make sure they have access to water as they can die of thirst.

Once you get the knack they are realy easy to breed.
