For some years I have toyed with the idea that a non-slip patch on my pipe bag would be a good idea, but as the only materials that were available were either a soft leather or yachting non-slip rubber I never adopted the idea on the grounds that the overall effect looked scruffy, albeit functional and practical.
However, I recently saw a piper with an extremely smart, custom made non-slip patch with rounded corners and a large border on his pipe bag. I asked him where he had obtained the thing from but the only information he could offer was that he had seen it on a stand at an outdoor competition and he could not recall which stand he had obtained it from, or who stocked it.
Does anyone know what company stocks or manufactures this item or even what its name is? Perhaps you have seen such a thing on someone else’s pipes. If anyone has any information about this I would be very interested as I intend to not only buy it myself but I also intend to equip the band with them as well
You can order them in rolls for about the same price as some dealers would sell you one patch. Just measure and cut and sew...good to go!

John, here in Australia we use such pads, generally available Australia wide. Most colours available with care. I have on both hide bag and canister bag caovers.
Re your comments of Ross canister bags, was interested to read your comments, will unplug chanter hose. Do you know of any tone enhancers/restrictors for drones that may be available. Regards
