I just got a bagpipe for my birthday and I really want to learn how to play, but for some reason when I try to play the chanter the pitch doesn't change when I cover/uncover different fingering holes. I think the reed is in properly. Also, how much of the reed do I put in my mouth? Does anyone know of any online tutorials that give very detailed information for people that have no clue what they're doing?

I hope you have gotten some help by now but if not here is a web site that has on-line lessons: www.thecaptainscorner.com also you are supose to have a practise chanter first. here is another web page that is a piping organization (that way you can get in contact with some real pipers hopfully) euspba.org
