Hi,
I know you have all found many interesting sites and I can see how they may be intresting to ESL teachers and some students may like them too, but can anyone tell me if they think its really beneficial or just new. I know students are exposed to real language use but there are also a whole new set of terms that I admit, I do not even understand. Doesn't this confuse students or perhaps give the wrong impression, because I believe that these expressions are all abbreviations and although it is interesting its usefulness seems limited. And what of the great majority of students that do not have internet access? This will isolate them too making them feel that English is even less accessible to them. Face it there are still teachers that do not own there own computers, imagine how many students do not, and even worse, how many do not know how to use them. Well, that's just my opinion. What do y'all think.

Jerene
PS. Please feel free to educate me in terms of chatting lingo. Thanks.
