Hi Jerene,
For what I've read, it can be an excellent learning tool, both in class and outside. Of course, like everything, it has it's advantages and disadvantages. We just have to be monitoring the process and evaluating it constantly. There are many elements involved in this, some which we can control and others not. The student's level, availability to internet, age group, assigned purpose, all play an important role. I think it can be great if it is well planned. But the problem is we don't have internet service in our classroom, and neither do all our students have internet at home. Anyhow I think it's worth trying.
