Subject: Walk-a-thon for Breast Cancer

Calling all walkers!! On Saturday, August 2, my Breast Cancer 3-Day team will be walking 20 miles in our last big training walk before the 3-Day. We want you to join us!! You can walk the full 20 miles or just 2. Walk as far as you want. All you have to do is get people to sponsor you for those miles. It's easy, just ask someone to sponsor you for $1+ per mile that you walk. For example, if your neighbor pledges $5 per mile and you walk 4 miles, they will give you $20 after the walk. All of the money will go to the 3-Day to help us toward our fundraising goals. The 3-Day then passes it along to Susan G Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

The walk-a-thon will take place in Westmont in a 2 mile loop from the middle school to the Incline and back. We will start at 9am and end at 5pm. You may come and go as you wish.

If you want to try to tackle the full 20 miles with us, be sure to get there by 9am to start with us. We will have prizes for any who make it the full 20 miles.

Not a walker? We have something that you can do to help! We will have a table set up in the parking lot of the middle school for walkers to check in and out and to supply water. We need volunteers to man the table. You can take an hour long shift, or sit there all day, whatever will work for you. If you are interested, please let me know how long you'd be willing to sit and at what time.

If you want to walk, just send me an e-mail and I'll send you the pledge sheet and sponsor receipts.

Please feel free to invite any and all family and friends to participate in this walk-a-thon. (There is no age limit, but children must be accompanied by an adult at the event.) This is a fund-raiser for an important cause. The more people we get to walk, the more we can raise!
