Subject: A highly recommended TV program for all students Author: Kenny Leung (Former Chairman of ES) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 10:00:51 02/22/03 Sat Starting from 5th Feb,2003, there will be a program for learning English called 'Road Scholars' broadcasted every Wednesday evening from 6:50pm to 7:20pm on TVB Pearl. The program 'Road Scholars' is are a series of documentaries made by youngsters of Canada on their study tours around the world in 2001. The HKedcity website (www.hkedcity.net/english/tv) will have preview materials ready one day before each episode to help students understand the program better. After each episode, you can go to the chat room to discuss the program with friends and Dr. Lo (Professor of the English faculty at Poly U) and try out the fun games and exercises on the website. I strongly recommend all SFX students to watch this program because it is a good way of raising your English standard by watching the program and attempting the exercises on the website. I advise you (or maybe your classmates) to visit the official website (www.hkedcity.net/english/tv) before the broadcasting to have a grasp of the content of the documentary. While you are viewing, try to jot down notes of what the people say and attempt the exercises on the official website to test your understanding. I really hope you could learn something from watching the program and improve your grades in CE exam.
